Rare 1942 motorcycle rebuilt by father and son team heads to museum
For most, history is something found in the pages of a book, at a museum or up on the big screen in some epic, multi-million-dollar film.
Occasionally, people may even come face-to-face with history while traveling to a foreign land and encountering ruins or artifacts from ages long past.
But for Paradise Valley residents Peter and Manuel Spitzer, history is something they bring back to life, right in their own backyard.
The father and son team recently completed a year-long labour of love – restoring a 1942 R75 BMW motorcycle to pristine condition – and on Monday (May 2) the World War II-era chopper was sent off to hold a special place in a motorcycle museum.
